8 November 2013 the virgin suicides

The Virgin Suicides is by far one of the best films I have ever seen. It's set in the 1970s in a suburban Detroit town and follows the weeks leading up to the Lisbon's sisters' suicides and the fascination the neighborhood boys had with the girls.

For me, the appeal of the movie wasn't from the story line as I usually love fast-pace, quick moving story lines; but instead I love the cinematography techniquess used through out the film. It's a montage of pastels, breezy music and vintage white dresses; each Lisbon sister unique in her own way.

There is Lux, Bonnie, Cecila, Therese and Mary, each with the same pale washed out complexion and ash blond hair; their isolation from the rest of the community and town, causing a sense of mystery surrounding the girls.
